Starting from the naming confusion itself, while Nexus Prime seems to be the biggest contender, Droid Prime, Galaxy Nexus and Droid Nexus have also been rumored. Next are the specs, BGR is reporting that next Nexus device will come with the following features:
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 9mm thin
- 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
- TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz
- 1GB RAM
- 32GB of built-in storage
- 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
- 1080p HD video capture support
- LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
- Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
- NFC
- 1,750 mAh battery
As all this information is coming from an unnamed source, there are chances that it turns out to be all wrong but considering BGR’s track record, it was worth giving time to.
But, I am skeptical about the 5MP camera part. As 8MP has almost become the standard these days for high-end devices, unless Samsung wanted to keep the device cost under a specific target, the 5MP camera does not make sense.
If these specs are correct, overall the device looks less powerful than the recently launched Galaxy S II variant Galaxy S II HD LTE in South Korea, but power has not an important factor in Nexus S too. What are your views?
Update: New set of specifications have leaked, details and more here.

Yep!, it is underpowered, expecting more from google yaar!
Agreed. Camera seems like a disappointing bit, especially after the release of iPhone 4S.
Also no mention of Bluetooth (iPhone 4S has Bluetooth 4.0) ??
The specs sounds practical(to keep competitive price point) since it has to compete with other Samsung Models as well as iPhone 4S(although not great specs, but its a iPhone and the sad news of Jobs will definitely give its market a sympathy boost).
For those questioning Camera Pixels, if sensors and overall hardware is picked from best available, it can beat even a 8 MP.
Though camera is 5Mgp but providing 1080p? Looks intresting
@kiran wat u want more than tis?? A quad core nd 12 megapixel ??
BTW, the resolution sounds great for a phone nd also the SAMOLED HD!!
Why this mega pixel madness? A camera is about quality of its pictures. Higher mega pixels only enable you to take large poster size print outs while taking away large amount of storage space and bandwidth in the process of transmission. A Five mega pixel camera is more than sufficient to take high quality A4 size print outs. How often does one take A4 size print outs?
5 mega-pixel camera seems to be the right level of optimization for use with a phone.
Dude,
Update this article. There is been another source claiming for 1.5 GHz dual core processor, dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics chip, 2,050 mAh battery and 8 MP camera.
Looks good and 5 MP camera is better than 8 MP for a phone.
