Datawind Tablet is known as “Aakash” in India. It has been developed by Canadian Firm an IIT Rajasthan. The Tablet is meant for mainly the students in India. It will be available for around 35 USD. 100, 000 Tablets have been delivered to Indian Government already by the firm for distribution to the various institutions. It will be available shortly to the college students by providing subsidy. And will also be available in the retail markets at a later stage for everyone but no plans of exporting it to any other country as of now. It is mainly a project nurtured by the Indian Central Government to gap the technology difference among the Urban and Rural students. And I don’t think any people from outside will be able to buy it very soon. He can do so only if anybody buys it here only and takes it to his country or somebody from here couriers ti him..Thats the only way for the foreigners to have it.
