Google TV team has disclosed via their official Twitter account that a minor security update will start pushing out to Google TV owners tomorrow, while a big one (read Honeycomb) will be available in few weeks.

While we do not have the exact timing of the update, but this is the first update schedule confirmation directly from Google. This upcoming update will bring the Android Market support, Honeycomb goodness. A whole slew of Google TV supported apps are already available in the Market from leading developers and many will start coming in one the update is officially available.

  1. I’ll believe it when I see it. Google promised summer of 2011. Well summer is over and still same old boring Google TV.

  2. My Sony GTV received the update around 3:am this morning. Entire update process took about 3 minutes. This must be the security update as there is no Honeycomb goodness to be found yet.

  3. For the price they have on GTV (Sony especially) you would think Google could have the courtesy to tell us when we can expect the update. Most the advertised features on the box and website are not available until we get honeycomb.
