Sony Z1000, Gingerbread powered Walkman coming to Japan

Sony Ericsson might still be making crappy Android powered Walkman phones but Sony individually has decided to go two steps up. Company yesterday announced Android powered Z1000 Walkman in Japan, it is a direct competitor to the likes of Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0, iPod Touch and several other PMPs out there.

Z1000 comes with nVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, Android 2.3, 512MB RAM and 4.3 inch display. It will come in 16/32/64GB variants. There is no cellular connectivity.

It will be available in Japan this October for a price starting 28,000 Yen.
