Samsung Android devices lead online discussions

India is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world and the excitement is visible everywhere. From Blogs to forums and social networks, consumers are talking about their choicest of smartphones.

But, the question arises, which smartphone platform is actually generating the most buzz. Don’t think too much – it is Android. According to a report by NM Incite, a Nielsen/McKinsey Company, Android was the dominant smartphone OS across the social media in the first six months of 2011. All other smartphone platforms including iOS saw a downfall between 2010 2H to 2011 1H.

The report further stated that “Apps” were the most talked about things when it comes to smartphones in India and most Android users were concerned about the OS version in their conversations. Well, everybody wants latest Android updates, and they are waiting for it, so as soon there is news of a new update for any phone – it spreads like wildfire on Twitter/Facebook or even forums.

Brands Generating Buzz:

Samsung topped the list followed by HTC, but it not all. The social media conversations about Motorola, LG and Sony Ericsson have also increased in the recent times.
