Beetel’s Android tablet to be called ‘Magiq’; already on sale – Exclusive

Advertisements

Remember, we reported a few days back about the upcoming launch of an Android tablet from Beetel. Well, the tablet will be called Magiq.

An unknown online retailer Sagar Telecom is now selling the tablet for a price INR 8,900, which is pretty decent price considering the internals of the tablet. Beetel Magiq comes with 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, 7 inch display with 800X480 pixel resolution, 2MP primary camera, front camera, Android 2.2 with custom UI, 8GB Internal memory and a 2200 mAh battery.

Magiq also supports 3G, so you can just pop in you SIM card and start browsing, making a decent package for INR 9K.

We are waiting for an official announcement from Beetel regarding the tablet, which is expected soon.

1. Update: Looks like Sagar Telecom has removed the details of tablet from their website, probably because they posted them before the announcement itself. But we have  a screenshot of the listing.

2. Update: Just got confirmation from Beetel that the tablet is going to be launched very soon, but according to them tablet image used in the product listing is not the correct representation of the actual product.

Thanks Rudradeep for the tip

price is lucrative for a 3g tablet….only thing is the update cycle woes that an user will face….would have been no regrets had it been on 2.3.3

A tablet without a tablet version of Android will be a serious compromise. An Android tablet should have Android 3.1 or above.

@manoj honeycomb is not necessary for 7inch. Gingerbird also do good. But it should have a capacitive touch screen.
