Apple wins ITC ruling in patent-infringement case with HTC

Advertisements

Apple has won a U.S. International Trade Commission (US ITC) ruling in a patent dispute with HTC, but this is not all. This ruling is subject to review by the full six-member commission in Washington and then only become binding.

Apple has first sued HTC last year, and ITC Administrative Law Judge Carl Charneski has found HTC infringing two of 10 Apple patents originally asserted in the case.

If this case goes though and a full commission upheld this ruling, ITC may ban US import of some the HTC Android smartphones.

On the other hand HTC, which has countersued Apple last year, is waiting for the outcome of that case. The findings of that patent dispute are scheduled to be released Sept. 16.
