Skype Android app patched to make video calls on Samsung Galaxy S, S2

Advertisements

Skype team might not have added support for Samsung Galaxy S or S II in the updated release of Skype App for video calls, but theos0o at XDA has already done it. He has patched the Skype app to make it work with both the devices and you can now easily make video calls from your Samsung Galaxy S or S II using the app.

You can grab the patched app download from here. This will only work if you SGS has Android 2.3 update installed, and SGS2 comes pre-installed with it so no worries.

Thanks Rushabh for the tip

works fine on my Galaxy S2. both front and rear cameras. But now I see a Skype update in marketplace. Should I update it or will that revert to the official non-video version ??

If you do update it, video will definitely stop and anyways its no point updating. The update adds video support for the nexus 4g. thats it..

Wow, this is great, thank you very much. As soon as I setup paypal, will be donating at least something. You done what skype did not do. Many thanks. SGS1
