Android captures 70 pc of Korean smartphone market share

WOW, that is huge. Android has captured 70 percent of total smartphone market share in South Korea. South Korea has a total of 14.1 million smartphone users and 10 million of them use a phone running on Android.

According to Yonhap, Android reached the 10 million figure this week and SK Telecom is the biggest contributor with 6.18 million subscribers followed by KT with 2.06 million and LG Uplus with 1.86 million.

considering that LG & Samsung are major Korean companies and are the big sellers there this isn’t a surprise at all.

Whatever platform those two companies push will be the dominant platform in Korea, imo.
