ZTE to launch affordable Honeycomb tablet Light Tab 2 in Oct

Advertisements

Huawei might have went ahead with a fancy event to launch its first Honeycomb tablet MediaPad , but its Chinese competitor ZTE is silently displaying a new version of Light Tab + at CommunicAsia but with a different name Light Tab 2.

Company is also adding that tablet will be launched by the end of October with Honeycomb on-board. Last we heard it was coming with Gingerbread in September, may be ZTE had a heart change and decided to put Honeycomb.

While the unit on display at the fair was still running on Gingerbread, ZTE is certain to update it to Android 3.x at the time of launch.  It will come with some decent specs like 1 GHz processor, 7-inch 1,024 x 600-resolution screen, GSM/WCDMA, 3G, Wi-Fi and WiMAX [in some versions].

ZTE plans to price it around USD 400.
