Google acquires Sage TV, might use in Google TV

Advertisements

According to an announcement on Sage TV website, Google has acquired this TV solutions provider and is likely to use its services as a part of its Google TV initiative.

Sage TV provides various products including a Media Center, which records TV content on host PC and Placeshifter, which lets you watch TV from any internet connection, similar to the Slingbox.

It is still unclear how these will be a part of Google’s portfolio, but we expect to hear more from Google at a future Google TV event.
