US Cellular to launch seven Android smartphones, two tablets this year

US Cellular is getting ready for some serious Android action of the remainder of the 2011. This regional telecom operator today announced that it will be releasing seven new Android devices from the likes of HTC, Motorola and LG sometime this year along with two new tablets – one of which is expected to be HTC Flyer, other is unknown.

All the smartphones will run Android 2.3 and one of them will be USC’s first 4G LTE device.

“Our new smartphones and tablets are packed with faster processors similar to those in personal computers for improved web browsing, video streaming, playing games and being more productive on the go,” said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular. “Customers who switch to U.S. Cellular also get unique benefits with all of our devices, like new phones faster without continuously signing contracts, and join the happiest customers in wireless.”
