Telstra launches Desire S, Wildfire S in Australia

Australian telecom operator Telstra has announced the availability of Gingerbread powered Desire S in the country, while Wildfire S will go on sale in July. Telstra will sell Desire S for $5 a month on the $59 Freedom Connect plan over 24 months starting May 31. Wildfire S will be priced at $360 outright and will go on sale from July 16.

Successor to the original Desire, Desire S comes with a 1 GHz processor, 5MP camera, 3.7 inch display, and Android 2.3

“We’re very excited about the Desire S as the first Desire was our most popular Android handset,” Telstra’s director of mobile products, Andrew Volard said.

Coming to Wildfire S, it will features a 600 MHz processor, Android 2.3, 3.2 inch display with a 5MP camera.
