Acer unable to fulfill initial supply of tablets

Acer has announced that it has forged deals with telecom operators around the world to launch its Iconia series of Android tablets, and the demand is more than the initial supplies, reported Digitimes.

Company explains that the limited supply is because of the tight supply of key components, especially touch panels.  The 10-inch Android 3.0 powered Iconia A500 is expected to launch in late March, while 7-inch Android Iconia A100 and 4.8-inch Iconia Smart will come in April.

The four models will initially support Wi-Fi only, but 3G support is also coming soon after local testing.
