Umeox introduces solar powered Android smartphone

Taking an eco-friendly path, Umeox today launched Apollo Solar Android smartphone. The handset works on Intivation’s Sunboost solar technology, through a solar panel placed on the rear.

Priced USD 100 off-contract, it is barely a high-end device. Some expected features include a MediaTek processor, microSD card slot, rear-facing camera and a SIM card slot.

Shipments to Europe, Latin America and India are likely to begin this May.
