ZTE’s decision to push low cost Android phones and other budget phones in China and Africa helped the company in expanding its market share to 3.7 per cent in 2010, reported IDC.

Phones like ZTE Blade (popularly known as Orange San Francisco) and Racer helped the company grow not only in countries where price was a significant aspect but also in developed lands like Europe and North America.

The Chinese firm came out as the fourth largest telecom equipments provider, followed by its iphone making rival, Apple.
