Did Asus lie about tablets at CES?

Advertisements

Yes, it seems like that in the first look. According to a report in The Inquirer, Asus will not be shipping its three Android tablets with Honeycomb; rather they will be running on Android 2.3. And, these tablets will arrive sometime in third quarter, opposite to second quarter announced at CES.

Well, the new details are coming from Asus marketing specialist John Swatton, who also added that CES announcement was a mistake. Good going Asus, make fools of the people now.

To refresh your memory, Asus announced three Android tablets at the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show – ASUS Eee Pad Slider, ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, and ASUS Eee Pad MeMO.

I’m really disappointed in ASUS, but you get the impression that Microsoft have probably used either a stick or a carrot to get them to give Win7 priority.

Not really surprising for what is really a computer, not phone manufacturer.
