LG Optimus Black debuts at CES 2011

LG today announced LG Optimus Black at a press conference today at Consumer Electronics Show. LG is calling the world’s thinnest smartphone. It is only 9.2 mm, and features 4 inch NOVA display.

Features of NOVA display:

  • NOVA display on LG Optimus Black also radically reduces power consumption by 50 percent during general indoor use compared to a conventional LCD.
  • LG Optimus Black’s NOVA display is designed to be the brightest, clearest and most readable among mobile screens with 700 nits of brightness for optimal visibility.

“We are excited to introduce this stylish new Android smartphone and expect the LG Optimus Black to play a key role in the mobile market,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Optimus Black comes with Android 2.2, 2 MP front facing camera, Wi-Fi direct, and 1500 mAh battery. The LG Optimus Black will be rolled out globally in the first half of 2011.
