Gingerbread on Nexus One; source code available in AOSP

Advertisements

Well, as soon as the Android 2.3 source was pushed to AOSP, devs started porting to other devices. Nexus One is the lucky one to get it first and the Gingerbread is ready to be installed without Google Apps and camera support.

You can download the Zip and flash it now.

A few things to note from Chris Soyers, who actually did the porting:

This may overwrite your recovery.

  • Does not include ANY proprietary applications (find your own).  That means no market.
  • Plain vanilla AOSP.
  • I will not release any builds for other devices, as we still have to work on those.
  • Requires, REQUIRES, 35.0017 hboot [Download here]
  • Nexus One ONLY.
  • No camera.
