Cox starts mobile services in US; launches HTC Desire and HTC Hero

While the telecom operator are raiding cable companies arena, Cox Communications became the first US cable company to raid telecom operators’ den.

Cox Communication yesterday announced that it is launching telecom services in three markets – Orange County, California; Omaha, Nebraska; and Hampton Roads, Virginia, reported Bloomberg.

Cox will use Sprint’s 3G network for its wireless service and will offer a quadruple package – a package of phone, TV, Web, and wireless service.

Along with the launch Cox also announced four Android smartphones that will be available on the network. These include HTC Desire, Motorola Milestone, LG Axis and HTC Hero.

Hero and Desire are immediately available while others will be available on a later date.
