Redmi Watch is Xiaomi’s latest budget smartwatch
Redmi Watch is official. Announced alongside Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 5G series on Thursday in China, the first smartwatch from the Redmi brand carries a design similar to Mi Watch but is not exactly the same. At this point, the Redmi Watch will only be released in China; however, it should reach India and other markets over the coming months. The most exciting thing about the new Redmi smartwatch is its pricing.
Redmi Watch price
It carries a price tag of just CNY 299 that translates to roughly Rs. 3,400, pretty sweet for a smartwatch. The Redmi Watch will go on sale in China beginning December 1, but the pre-orders are open right now. There is no word on the India launch date at this point. The smartwatch is being offered in three colour options – Elegant Black, Ink Blue, and Ivory – and with five colour options for straps.
Redmi Watch features and specifications
The new Redmi smartwatch sports a 1.4-inch colour square display with 340×340 pixels resolution. It comes pre-loaded with over 120 watch faces and more can be downloaded via the inbuilt store. For fitness and activity tracking, there are 7 major sports modes. The smartwatch is also rated 5ATM for water-resistance, so you can wear swimming, on the beach, surfing, and more.
There is a heart rate sensor onboard as well. You also get sleep monitoring support, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.0. Xiaomi has included a 230mAh battery in the Redmi Watch that it says can last up to 7 days on moderate usage and up to 12 days on the power saving mode. Redmi Watch can be used with both Android and iPhone models.
Lastly, it weighs just 35 grams and is 11.9mm at the thickest point.
