Micromax has silently released an 8GB internal storage variant of the Canvas A1 Android One smartphone in the country. The phone is now on sale at physical retailers and ebay India at around INR 6,039. The company has also officially listed the phone on its website.

Apart from the increased internal storage and pre-loaded Android 5.1, rest of the specifications of the new Canvas A1 model are exactly same as the existing one, which comes with 4GB of built-in storage. You can check out a quick recap of the specifications later in the report.

There is no word on whether Karbonn or Spice also plan to release bigger storage variants of their Android One smartphones in the country.
