LG to add Wi-Fi support to G Watch R

After Google recently revealed that LG G Watch R won’t get the Wi-Fi support in the latest Android Wear update, LG has noted that even though recent Android Wear update might not activate Wi-Fi support in the smartwatch, it plans to release a software patch in Q3, which will do so.

“The original LG G Watch was not designed with Wi-Fi in mind and will not have this capability even after the Android Wear update. LG G Watch R will require a maintenance release after the patch update to Android Wear-access Wi-Fi networks.
