Google Maps for Android update brings new traffic alerts
Google has released an updated version of Maps for Android in Google Play, which brings new traffic alerts. If you are headed on a road and there is congestion ahead, Google Maps will now inform you and suggest alternate routes. The app will also detail the traffic conditions when you search for directions before heading out.
“Now when you input your destination, you’ll get an explanation of upcoming traffic conditions that helps you identify the quickest route. While you’re on the road, Google Maps will give you a heads up if congestion lies ahead, and how long you’ll be stuck in a jam. You’ll also get the option to take alternate routes, including explanations for why one is recommended—whether it’s the fastest or avoids an incident,” wrote Google in a blog post.
Motorola has rolled-out an updated version of its Camera app, which brings support for manual exposure controls. With the updated application, you will be able to select longer or shorter exposure time to capture brighter or darker images. Longer exposure times can also be used for creative photography.
