Just two days after releasing the much-delayed Android 5.0.2 update for the Nexus 9 tablet, Google has announced that it will begin the roll-out of the Android 5.1 update for the tablet later today. The update will be available over-the-air (OTA) and will be pushed in batches, like all Android updates.
Don’t get impatient if you don’t see an OTA update notification right-away, it will most likely take a couple of weeks to reach all Nexus 9 units.
The company has not shared an official change-log, but Android 5.1 mainly brings stability improvements, bug-fixes and security enhancements.
At the time of writing this report, Google had not published the Android 5.1 factory images for the Nexus 9 on its developer website, but we expect them to appear later today or in the next couple of days.
