Sony on Wednesday introduced a new smartphone targeted to the selfie-lovers in the form of Xperia C4. The smartphone will succeed the company’s Xperia C3, which was launched last year.
“Following the success of Xperia C3, we are proud to introduce Sony’s evolved PROselfie smartphone. Xperia C4 caters to consumers that want a smartphone that not only takes great photos, but also packs a punch. Benefiting from Sony’s camera expertise, the 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens lets you capture perfect selfies, while its quality display and performance features provide an all-round advanced smartphone experience,” said Tony McNulty, Vice-President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications.
According to Sony, Xperia C4 will be released in both single-SIM and dual-SIM versions. It will go on sale beginning June 2015 in select markets across the world in four colour options. There is no word on the pricing.
According to Sony, the new smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor. The phone also comes with 13MP auto-focus primary camera, 5MP front shooter with LED flash, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.
Other specifications of the Xperia C4 include support for 4G LTE, NFC, Android 5.0 and 2600 mAh battery.
