LG Magna reaches India, overpriced as usual

LG MagnaUnless you love LG phones or like buying overpriced stuff, there is nothing for you here. The Korean manufacturer has quietly introduced its LG Magna smartphone in the Indian market. The phone has been listed on the company website with a price-tag of INR 16,500 and is now on sale at select physical stores in the country.

Originally introduced in February this year, LG Magna is a part of the company’s new mid-range line-up, which also includes smartphones like Spirit, Joy and Leon. LG has already released the Spirit from the line-up in the country.

The LG Magna features a 5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The phone also comes with dual-SIM support, 8MP auto-focus rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The smartphone includes 2540 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM and Android 5.0.

According to the company, the Magna packs the usual LG software enhancements like Gesture Shot, Touch & Shoot, Glance View, and Knock Code.

As you can see, LG Magna’s specifications aren’t really in-line with what one would expect from a smartphone with INR 16.5K price-tag in today’s smartphone market. Like most of its mid-range and entry-level phones, LG has overpriced the phone and you will be better off going with the new Asus Zenfone 2 (INR 15K variant), Xiaomi Mi 4i (INR 12,999), Moto G (2nd Gen) or even Lenovo A6000 Plus smartphone.
