Chinese media streaming service Leshi TV (LeTV) is pretty much unknown outside China, but that hasn’t dampened the ambitions of the company. LeTV on Tuesday announced that it is entering the smartphone arena and launching in the United States. The company will start offering its streaming service and devices in the US later this year.
LeTV earlier today unveiled the Le Superphone, which will be released in China soon in three variants – Le 1, Le 1Pro and Le Max.
As you can see in the product shots embedded in this report, LeTV’s new smartphones come with razer-thin bezels on the sides and sport an all-metal unibody design, which looks similar to HTC One and Apple iPhone.
All three variants of the LeTV Superphone pack impressive specifications and come with USB Type C port, something which is yet to become a common sight in the smartphone market. Here is quick rundown of the key features of all three phones.

Pricing and Availability:
According to LeTV, the Le 1 has been priced starting 1499 yuan and will go on sale beginning April 21. Le 1 Pro will retail starting 2499 yuan and will be available on May 19. There is no word on the pricing or availability of LeTV Le Max.
The company has also not said anything about the release of these phones outside China or US.
Similar to Amazon’s hardware, LeTV is also launching these smartphones with the sole purpose of controlling how its content is consumed. The company is hoping that the aggressively priced phones will help in selling more of its streaming content. Thus, it has designed the EUI to put its content front and center to the consumers.

“The smartphone industry is getting a little stale. It’s a little same old, same old. We think the way forward is more content centric, not app centric,” said LeTV vice president and general manager JD Howard.

Highly interested, especially in the Le 1 due to the battery to resolution ratio. This should get better battery life, but a 128gb version would be nice as well. 64 will suffice.
