Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has made its first step towards reducing its dependence of Flipkart for the sales of its products. The company on Tuesday opened its own web store in the country, which can be accessed at the company website.
The Xiaomi web store has been in making for a long time and the company executives had stated the same multiple times in the past.
The store is only selling select accessories at the moment, however I don’t expect it to remain that way for a long time. I believe that Xiaomi will expand the store to retail all of its products in the second half of this year, the accessory sales will act as a trial until that time.
In related news, Xiaomi is all set to open the sales of Mi Pad and Redmi 2 smartphone on March 24 at Flipkart. The registrations for Redmi 2 flash sale are now open, while the Mi Pad will be available without a flash sale.
