HTC is reportedly getting ready to introduce a new Desire-series Android smartphone in the Indian market soon. The new HTC Desire 820S will be joining the company’s growing number of 820-series phones, which come with octa-core processors.

According to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the Desire 820S stocks are expected to reach retailers as early as March 12 and the phone will carry a price-tag of INR 24,490.  The company is yet to say anything about the launch of Desire 820S, but we hope to hear from HTC in the coming days.

Coming to the smartphone, Desire 820S features two-SIM card slots, both of which support 4G LTE as well as 3G networks. The phone also comes with 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2600 mAh battery.

In addition, the smartphone packs 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, dual-front speakers, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, and 8MP front shooter.

On the software front, the Desire 820S runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense UI.  The phone will be competing with the likes of Xiaomi Mi 4, Lenovo Vibe X2 4G, and Huawei Honor 6 in the country.
