Indian smartphone vendor Lava has announced the launch of a new smartphone in its iris Fuel line-up today. Dubbed as Lava iris Fuel 20, the smartphone sports a massive 4400 mAh battery, which the company claims will provide around 42 hours of talk-time. The phone has been priced at INR 5,399 and will go on sale in the coming days.

Iris Fuel 20 is a competitively priced 2G phone that is designed to give buyers a delightful smartphone experience,” said Navin Chawla, Vice President & Head Product, Lava International.

Other specifications of the Lava iris Fuel 20 include 5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. In addition, the phone packs 5MP shooter on the back, VGA on the front and dual-SIM support.

Fuel 20 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and features 2G EDGE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity options. There is however no 3G support in the smartphone.

We need phones with great battery capacity and it is a shame that despite providing that, Lava iris Fuel 20 falls short by not offering 3G support.
