Google has announced that it has begun the sales of Chromecast media streamer via Google Play as well in the Indian market. The device was earlier only available from e-retailer Snapdeal.com in the country. Both Snapdeal and Google Play offer Chromecast at INR 2,999.
Originally introduced in 2013, Google’s Chromecast allows the users to stream online media on their HDTVs and control it from their smartphones or Chrome web browser on computers. The Chromecast feature-set has improved a lot since the original launch and it now also allows the select Android users to mirror their smartphone screen on their HDTVs.
Chromecast is easy to use and is a purely Plug-and-Play device with little set-up needs. It works using Wi-Fi and can be powered from the USB-ports present in the TV itself.
To remind you, Indian Chromecast users can stream content from a number of sources like Eros Now, Rdio, Google Play Movies, YouTube, Yupp TV, and Spuul. The full list of the apps can be found on Chromecast website.
