HTC has announced that it has started rolling out Android 5.0 update for the developer and unlocked editions of the One (M8) smartphone in the United States. The update is live over-the-air (OTA) and will reach all One (M8) dev & unlocked edition users in the coming days.
This is first variant of any Sense UI smartphone from HTC to get the Android 5.0 update and more Sense version smartphones will be getting the update in the coming days. Markets, where the unlocked version of One (M8) is sold, are expected to be next in line to receive the update, followed by countries with carrier-locked units. The Lollipop update for One (M7) will also follow soon, but there is no word on the exact roll-out schedule.
