Oppo R5 priced at INR 29,990 in India, pre-bookings open Jan 1

Oppo R5Oppo on Tuesday revealed the price of its R5 smartphone for the Indian market. According to the company, the phone will retail for INR 29,990 in the country. The pre-bookings for the phone will open on January 1, 2015, but the exact availability details are unclear.

With just 4.85mm, R5 is Oppo’s slimmest smartphone till date and will be competing with the likes of 4.75mm thick Vivo X5Max and 5.1mm thick Gionee Elife S5.1 smartphones in India.

Oppo R5 features a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.4-based Color 2.0.1 OS. The phone also packs 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 16GB of internal storage, 2000 mAh battery and 4G LTE support.

    “We used cutting edge manufacturing techniques to create a phone that fits perfectly into the users’ hands”its been discussed to death that a ultra slim phone is much more prone to slip and getting dropped. also motorola’s curved back fits in hand better than most flat/slim ones. sure, credit to Oppo for such slimness but isn’t that most people will stick a case that is twice the thickness to protect world’s second thinnest phone from drops and cracks !?!
