Motorola has announced that it has begun the roll-out of Android 5.0 update for Moto X (2nd Gen) smartphone in the Indian market. We have get multiple confirmation from our readers as well as XDA members that the update is indeed live over-the-air (OTA).
The update is 576.5MB in size and will automatically reach the Moto X (2nd Gen). The Moto X users can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. As all updates are released in phases, it might take some days for the update to reach your phone.
The Lollipop update brings material design changes, enhanced notifications, new priority-based interruption settings, updates to Moto Display, redesigned recent apps UI, guest mode, performance enhancements, smart lock and more. You can check out the full change-log here.
This roll-out makes Moto X (2nd Gen) the first Motorola smartphone in India to get the final Lollipop update. Motorola has stated that the Android 5.0 update for other Motorola phones in the country will be released soon.
If you have updated your Moto X (2nd Gen) to Lollipop, do let us know about the experience in comments.
