Spice Mobiles on Wednesday announced the launch of the Hindi-version of its Dream Uno Android One smartphone. Dubbed as Spice Dream Uno H, the new smartphone comes with Hindi user-interface, Hindi keyboard, Hindi voice-search support as well as the Hindi-languages versions of popular Google apps like Google Search, Maps and YouTube.
The company is targeting the 300 million Hindi-speakers living in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar with the new phone. While the phone is essentially the same as the previously launched Dream Uno, the pre-loaded Hindi features will make it easier to operate for the non-English users.
“Keeping in line with our shared philosophy of bringing the best in technology at an affordable price, we are delighted to partner with Google to launch India’s first truly Hindi phone – the Spice Dream Uno H. We firmly believe that this revolutionary phone will contribute immensely in connecting the 300 million Hindi speaking masses to the internet with its useful applications such as Google Search, YouTube and Google Maps,” said Prashant Bindal, Chief Executive Officer, Spice Mobility Ltd.
Coming to the specifications, Spice Dream Uno H features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4.4, dual-SIM support and 5MP rear camera. The phone also packs 2MP front shooter, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot.
The Dream Uno H has been priced at INR 6,499 and will be available at all major retail stores in the country.
