Sony Xperia Z Ultra gets a price-cut, now available for INR 19,990 at Amazon (Update)

Looking for a capable yet affordable phablet, you are in luck as Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra is selling at just INR 19,990 at Amazon India as well as Flipkart (Check update below). The e-retailers are offering White, Black and Purple colour options of the phone.

Originally introduced in June last year, Sony Xperia Z Ultra features a 6.4-inch full HD display, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 3000 mAh battery. On the imaging front, the device packs 8MP rear camera and 2MP front shooter. Other specifications include 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and Android 4.4. Sony has already promised to provide Android 5.0 update for Z Ultra, so your phone will not become outdated anytime soon.

In addition, Sony Xperia Z Ultra supports handwriting recognition which is compatible with any pencil and selected stylus or pen (capacitive stylus or metal pen with tip diameter over 1mm).

There is no word whether the reduced price is valid for limited period or this is a permanent price-cut. So if you plan to buy the phone, do it now. Among the competitors to Z Ultra at this price, only 5-inch Huawei Honor 6 and Lenovo Vibe X2 stand out.

Update: Flipkart has increased the prices but the phone is still available at Amazon at INR 19,990.

Update 2: Looks like, Sony has officially reduced the price of the Z Ultra to INR 20,990, so you can expect the brick and mortar stores as well as other e-retailers to start selling the phone at reduced price in the coming days. Till then, Amazon deal seems decent enough.
