The first Android One smartphones have just landed in the Indian market but the smartphone vendors are already talking about the second-set of Android One smartphones.
According to a report by Press Trust of India (PTI), Karbonn is planning to release its second Android One smartphone around late-December, 2014.
“Smartphone penetration in India still remains low and we believe there is still a huge scope…We will look at bringing in a device by December-end,” Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles, told PTI.
The Karbonn Android One phone will be followed by another Android One smartphone from Spice, which will reach Indian shores in Q1 of 2015. Intex, which recently joined the Android One programme, is also expected to launch its first Android One phone in the Q1 of the next year.
The specifics of these phones are currently a mystery at this point but being Android One smartphones, the consumers can expect them to be affordable with specifications similar to the current lot.
To remind you, Spice, Micromax and Karbonn recently released the first Android One phones in the country, which are available at Flipkart, Amazon India and Snapdeal respectively. These phones will be reaching the physical stores next month around the Diwali shopping season. Developed in partnership with Google, the Android One phones aim to bring quality smartphone experience at an affordable price-tag with latest software.
ASUS’s Android one with Snapdragon 210 will be just great.
