Huawei to unveil Ascend Mate 7 at IFA to take on Galaxy Note 4

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 InviteChinese telecom giant Huawei is getting ready to unveil a new Ascend Mate-series smartphone at the upcoming IFA trade fair to take on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4. As per an invite shared by the company to the Chines tech media, the smartphone will be dubbed as Ascend Mate 7 and it will be unveiled on September 4 in Berlin.

In addition, Huawei has also been sending a cryptic teaser, which hints at a smartphone with fingerprint sensor. It is believed that this smartphone is Ascend Mate 7. Given the rumours, Galaxy Note 4 is expected to include a fingerprint sensor, so it would be wise for Huawei to include the same in Mate 7 if it plans to take on Note 4 with its smartphone.

As per reports, Huawei Ascend Mate 7 will be released in two variants, one with QHD (2560x1440p) display and other with FHD display, targeting each to a different audience. Among other specifications, the phone will pack a 6-inch screen, Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 920 processor, Android 4.4, 4G LTE support, 13MP rear camera, and 5MP front shooter. The phone will also include 3GB of RAM in QHD version and 2GB of RAM in FHD version.

Other details are still unclear but we will get the official word in around a fortnight from now.
