In its latest platform version report, Google has revealed that KitKat (4.4.x) is now present on 20.9 percent of all active Android devices that support Google Play. It is still the second biggest Android version after Jelly Bean (4.1.x, 4.2.x & 4.3.x), which is currently present on 54.2 percent of devices.
Apart from KitKat, all other Android versions have seen a decrease in their market share but Android versions like Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x), Gingerbread (2.3.x) and Jelly Bean will continue to capture a significant number of Android devices over the near future.
As per Google data, Ice Cream Sandwich is present on 10.6 percent and Gingerbread is installed on 13.6 percent of active Android devices. Lastly, Froyo, which is taking its last breaths, can be found on 0.7 percent.
