LG on Thursday unveiled a slightly compact version of its flagship smartphone G3 in the form of G3 Beat. The smartphone keeps some key features of the G3 but specifications have been lowered to make it affordable for mid-range buyers.
According to a press release by the company, LG G3 Beat will be known as G3 s in Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) regions.
“Smartphone manufacturers cannot ignore this growing segment of consumers who want the best balance of looks, features, performance and, of course, price. The LG G3 Beat represents our commitment to the mid-tier smartphone market that demands mature technology, proven branding, great innovation and attractive price, all in a single device,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
LG G3 Beat features a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera with Laser Auto Focus, 1.3MP front camera and Android 4.4.2. In addition, LG has included 4G LTE support, 2540 mAh battery, the usual set of connectivity options on the G3 s.
In terms of the software enhancements, you will find the Touch & Shoot, Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+, and Gesture Shot on the smartphone.
LG G Beat will go on sale starting July 18 i.e. tomorrow in South Korea, followed by countries in Europe and CIS over the coming weeks.
