Chromecast turns one, crosses 400 million casts till date

Chromecast 1st BirthdayExactly one year ago today, Google unveiled its streaming dongle Chromecast. Thanks to its aggressive $35 price-tag, the device went on to be a success for the search giant and the company has reportedly sold “millions of units,” however the exact number remains a mystery.

Google today revealed that as Chromecast celebrates its first birthday, it has achieved several milestones includes over 400 million casts till date by the consumers around the world. The device is currently on sale in over 30,000 stores in 20 countries.

To include the Chromecast users in the birthday festivities, Google is offering all Chromecast owners in the United States 90-days free-trial of the Play Music All Access streaming service.
