Within ten months of introducing its Mi 3 smartphone, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is ready with the successor. The company is holding a press event on July 22, where it will be unveiling Mi 4, its next flagship model.
The company founder and CEO Jun Lei earlier today shared a teaser for the event on his Weibo account. The teaser reveals little and just says – “The journey of a piece of steel metal,” which is in line with the rumours of Mi 4 sporting a metal chassis.
The exact specifications are a mystery at this point but as per reports until now, the upcoming Xiaomi flagship will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 based MIUI OS.
The pricing is expected to be aggressive like Mi 3 and the phone will probably retail around $330 as did Mi 3 initially.
The Mi 4 will first go on sale in China but we can expect the phone to head over to other markets where Xiaomi currently operates within a month or two.
Thanks Mohan for the tip
If its going to be 5.5″, then I will be happy with Mi3… Further there is NOT much real-world performance difference between Snapdragon 800 and 801, imho…
