After being sighted on the company website last month, Lava’s new budget Android phone IRIS 402e is finally on sale in the Indian market. The phone can now be grabbed from e-retailers like Flipkart for INR 4,199.
Packing support for ten Indian languages, Lava IRIS 402e comes with localised user-interface and multi-lingual keyboard from KeyPoint Technologies, which is the developer behind AdapTXT keyboard app.
“Localization is about being relevant to the local culture. By supporting the 10 most used Indian languages, we are convinced that Lava users will enjoy a drastically improved interaction with their smartphones” said Sumit Goswami, CEO at KeyPoint Technologies.
According to Lava, the 402e users will be able to choose from 10 Indian languages and the entire phone UI, including all the applications, will be displayed in the chosen language.
Coming to the specifications, IRIS 402e features a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, dual-SIM support and Android 4.2. The phone also comes with 3MP rear camera, VGA front shooter, 1450 mAh battery, 512MB of RAM, 512MB of on-board storage, microSD card slot and 2G Edge support.
Lava 3G 412 available for INR 4,399
In related news, another Lava Android smartphone –3G 412 – is also on sale in the country. The phone carries a price-tag of INR 4,399 and comes with 1GHz dual-core processor, 2MP rear camera, 3G support and 1500 mAh batter. Rest of the specifications are same as IRIS 402e.
