Samsung Gear Live goes on sale in India via Google Play

Samsung Gear Live at Google PlayAfter showing Samsung Gear Live as “coming soon” for a few days, Google has finally started taking orders for the smartwatch in India today. This Android Wear device can now be purchased from Google Play for INR 15,900, however shipping will only start in two-three weeks.

Originally showcased at Google I/O last month, Gear Live is the first Android Wear smartwatch from Samsung and comes with 1.63-inch 320x320p Super AMOLED display. The smartwatch, like LG G Watch, is powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage.

Samsung has included a 300 mAh battery, heart-rate sensor, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and the usual compass, gyroscope and accelerometer sensors.

Don’t like Samsung Gear Live, LG’s G Watch is also on sale via Google Play for INR 14,999 and the shipping will start on July 8.

To remind you, Android Wear platform includes features like Google Now support, notifications mirroring, voice search, Ok Google support, step counter, music controls, and more.

  1. Samsung is selling its smartwatch cheaper than LG’s (LG has bigger screen + 25% bigger battery) in USA, whereas here in India it is selling more than LG’s smartwatch..

    So Samsung thinks, we Indians are fools…

    • Not this one.. It will work with any Android phones with version 4.3 JB (Even JB 4.2 is not enough) or above..

      Its those Sammy’s own smart watches (now all running its own OS Tizen) that are Compatibile with Sammy phones and that too with Android version 4.2 or above, afaik… It is called Samsung GALAXY GEAR and this one is called as Samsung Gear LIVE running Google’s AndroidWear OS…
