LG has finally started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Optimus G Pro E988 smartphone in the Indian market. The update is also live in other Asian countries like Indonesia.
Now available over-the-air (OTA), the update is 684MB in size and brings the usual KitKat goodies. To manually look for the update, go Settings > About phone > Software update. You can also check for the update via LG update tool on your PC.
The official change-log is not available but G Pro owners can expect to see immersive mode, cloud-print support, user-interface improvements, updated Hangouts app, new downloads app, restyled status and navigation bars, stronger security, and battery life improvements.
If you have already updated your phone to KitKat, do let us know about the experience in comments.
In related news, LG Brazil has stated that the KitKat update for Optimus G smartphone will be arriving in August-end, which is about two months away.

Got the update about 3 weeks ago. Cut my battery life in half. With phone on doing nothing it will drop about 10% a hour. Was out the other day just listening to a podcast and my battery was down to 25%.
Besides that I am happy. There was a problem restoring all the apps. I forgot what error message I got but I had to do a reboot of my phone 3 times to finish downloading my apps. I also lost my ring tone setting in my contacts. I did have to redo all my app placement on my home screens.

I did factory reset and still no improvement on battery life. I have to carry a battery pack with cable so I can recharge to make it through the day. I also have a charging cable in my car and several places I go. I try to keep phone on a charger when ever possible. š¦

Phone got a new look with its new UI after update. But battery drains very fast without any usage. I did update using LG Support tool from my laptop. From OTA it shows 684 MB size, but from support tool update it was 1.7 GB size. Why this download size variation? How to check I have received all features of KitKat ?
