Chinese tech giant Lenovo has announced that it will be rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Vibe X and Vibe Z smartphones in the Indian market.  The update will be released in the last week of May and will most probably be available over-the-air, although the company has not revealed the roll-out method in the announcement.

Lenovo has also stated that it is reducing the price of Vibe X phone in the country to INR 22,999, however the phone is already selling for as low as INR 19,999 at e-retailers like Flipkart and Amazon.

To remind you, Lenovo Vibe X was introduced in the country in December 2013 with Android 4.2, while Vibe Z arrived in February 2014 with Android 4.3. Both phones will be directly updated to Android 4.4.

According to Lenovo, the KitKat update for the devices will bring better application compatibility, security enhancements, bug fixes, user-interface improvements, new dialler app, better autofocus and white balance capabilities in camera, improved Lenovo power manager for better battery utilization, and enhanced multi-tasking.

Vibe Z specifically will get improved 4K video playback, enhanced UI transitions and multisensory user experience, enhanced notification access, wireless printing capabilities, updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and expanded accessibility.
