HTC is reportedly getting ready to launch the next-generation Butterfly smartphone in the coming months. According to a tweet by @LlabTooFeR , who has a pretty decent record with HTC-related leaks, the upcoming Butterfly smartphone is codenamed B2.
@LlabTooFeR further notes that B2 will only be released in select Asian markets like Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and it is unlikely to reach Europe or Americas. It will keep the original Butterfly-like glossy body, same has been confirmed via a leaked press render (see above).
The render, which has been shared by @evleaks, reveals that B2 will come with a plastic body and feature stereo speakers on the front like HTC One M8.
Although the exact specifications of HTC B2 are a mystery, @LlabTooFeR states that the specifications will be same as One (M8), which comes with 5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0, 16/ 32GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. It is unlikely that we will see HTC Duo camera on B2 but we can’t be certain until the official unveiling.
@LlabTooFeR also confirms that Butterfly 2 is different from the plastic version of One (M8), which is also expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
