Sony is reportedly hosting a press event in the Indian market on May 8 to launch its flagship Xperia Z2 smartphone. The company has already started sending out invites for the same to the tech press in the country, reports The Economic Times.
Originally introduced at Mobile World Congress in February this year, Sony Xperia Z2 sports a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. Sony has also included 3GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, microSD card slot and 3200 mAh battery on the smartphone.
On the imaging front, the phone packs 20.7MP rear camera with 4K video recording support and 2.2MP front camera. The Xperia Z2 runs on Android 4.4 and comes with Sony’s software customisations.
The smartphone is also water and dust resistant and features the usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi, 3G, NFC and Bluetooth.

While the launch of Xperia Z2 is most likely, we also expect to hear about the Xperia Z2 tablet availability and Smartband release on May 8.
