Chinese tech giant Lenovo has announced the launch of S860 Android smartphone in the Indian market. Priced at INR 21,500, the phone goes on pre-order beginning April 28 at the company’s thedostore.com and will be available in brick and mortar stores on May 3, 2014.
“We launched the S860 at MWC this year and the smartphone completes our range of products like P780 and S660 that provides users an incredibly long battery life. It was also recognized as one of the best launches from Lenovo at MWC this year,” said Sudhin Mathur, Director-Smartphones, Lenovo India.
Powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, the Lenovo S860 features 5.3-inch 1280x720p display, Android 4.2, dual-SIM support and 4000 mAh battery. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. In addition, Lenovo has included 3G and other usual connectivity options on the smartphone.
Although most of the Lenovo S860 specifications are decent, the presence of Android 4.2 is a disappointment.
At this pricing, Lenovo S860 will be competing with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, XOLO Q3000 and Gionee Elife E7 in the country.
